It's time for another edition of Tuesday Trailers. Here we go: The Campaign ZO: Here’s my concern about the movie: Jay Roach. Not long ago, he was almost exclusively a “comedy” guy, directing the Austin Powers series, the first two Meet the Parents movies, and producing Borat, Bruno, and Adam Sandler’s 50 First Dates. In the years since, he’s taken an intense interest to almost anything political, producing and directing the docudramas Recount and Game Change for HBO, and is currently working on a drama about the Watergate scandal. This should make him the ideal candidate for the job; a solid understanding...Read More
Welcome to another edition of Tuesday Trailers. Let's go. House at the End of the Street ZO: It seems like one of Hollywood’s most well-known (and clichéd) paths to stardom is that of the Slasher Movie Starlet. The thinking goes that a young actress pays her dues by appearing in a few mediocre horror films, then begins her decent up the career ladder to more prestigious roles and bigger paydays. Everyone’s favorite example of this, of course, is Jamie Lee Curtis, who started out starring in movies such as Halloween, The Fog, and Prom Night before moving on to more mainstream hits such...Read More
We're trying something new today, it's called Tuesday Trailers. Instead of just posting trailers for you to look through over at watch@armovieguys, we thought we'd put a few here also, and talk about our reactions to them. (They'll still be up over at watch also, we don't want anyone feeling confused or left out, we aim to please dammit!) Enjoy! Safety Not Guaranteed ND: I think this movie has great potential. I was into it from the very beginning. I mean, an ad in the paper for a time traveling partner? Awesome concept! Good cast and a great story line. Bonus - Love it...Read More
It's back! Beauty and the Beast…in stunning Disney 3D. (You think that $78mil The Lion King made had anything to do with this?) It's been 20 years since the Beast went through Belle's anger management program and landed himself one of the hottest Disney women of all time. Wow, where does the time go? Guys can lie all they want about not liking Disney movies, but they are what they are, and most of them are awesome. This one is no different. Chick flick? Absolutely. Watchable even if you have a pair? Also a yes. Are we excited about the Re-Release? Sure. Plus...Read More
Just the thought of Lion King back on the big screen gives me the goosebumps! It doesn't even need to be in 3D and I'd go see it, but guess what...IT IS IN 3D! Simba and his friends are BACK, that's RIGHT, 2 weeks only and we're friggin' PUMPED! Here's the trailer...EPIC! -- Sept. 16, 2011 (turn up your speakers!)
We at armovieguys are suckers for a good dramedy . 50/50 is a movie about a 27 year old man (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) getting cancer. His best friend (Seth Rogen) tries to make the best of the situation with drugs, women and alcohol. We are preparing ourselves for a heart felt, slam dunk of a movie. Seth Rogen's proved he can be that all around actor and Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been on a hot streak these past few years. It's got it all so check it out!
The movie Moneyball is about the 2002 Oakland Athletics and their journey to becoming a competitive ball club even with a relatively low budget. ($42mil vs a Yankees $125mil). Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill’s characters join forces to try and shake things up in Oakland. Billy Beane’s (Pitt) radical methods were highly criticized and talked about for years. Will some of those methods work? We at armovieguys are really looking forward to this movie and think it’ll be one to check out in theaters.
When Ben Stiller and his fellow employees fall victim to a wealthy asswipe's Ponzi scheme, Ben takes a stand and is determined to get the money back. But he needs help. WHO could possibly help him? Eddie Murphy! That's who! Could it be? Are you serious? This looks perfect for Eddie Murphy. We at armovieguys are looking forward to this action packed comedy and hope/think it's JUST what Mr. Murphy needs. Take a look.
Here's a recut trailer we came across and enjoyed. Let us know what you think...
We're starting a new series here at armoviguys, where we'll look at recut trailers of our favorite movies. Some will be created by us, but others will be ones that we come across, so if you have a great one, let us know. This first one is an armovieguys original. Enjoy!
